DJ Mixes
From 2007 to 2014, when I moved to New York for school, I DJ’d weddings, fashion shows, architecture symposiums, holiday parties, you name it. I also played clubs and, once at least, from a lifeguard stand, wearing not enough clothing and in the middle of Atlanta. Growing up in the Spring Break Capitol of the World may never leave me, and that feels fine.
Anyway, here are three old mixes. More will arrive later this year. I am, as they say, back on my grind.

Up Too Late (Spring 2008 mix)
Like many elder millennials who didn’t grow up in major cities, I found my way to dance music through neon, sawbuzzing electro in the mid-aughts. This was an easy conversion from the punk and hardcore of my youth—similar energies, you just dance differently. Some of this is dated, but I love that it holds a key transitional time in amber.

Foam Room Trap (Summer 2013)
I mixed this as a nighttime complement to the surf record I made as Girls Of The SEC. That record forged sound from my memories of hot days by salty seas. This mix drew air horn chemtrails in honor of clubs and wet t-shirt contests I never saw.

WUT (2011 Night Mix)
The bluer, moodier side of electronic music has captivated me since first hearing Kraftwerk, mid-period Radiohead, and Aphex Twin. This mix nodded a handful of modern producers playing in those and other sandboxes.
